Third Trimester

Well, here we are. We have arrived at the third trimester.

Our baby is a boy-for sure. We got a pretty clear picture at the 20 week ultrasound but were asked to come back for another so they could get a better look at the heart. We went back just over a week ago and everything looked normal and healthy. I jokingly asked the ultrasound tech if the baby was still a boy, and she calmly said she would double check. She looked around for a minute and started looking worried. She told us that it looked like girl parts from one angle and boy parts from another. She was freaking out a little and said that had never happened to her before. Eventually she had me change positions which moved baby and then there was no doubt that our baby is a boy.

This kid is an acrobat. He moves quite a lot and has just started really pushing on my ribs. Every once in a while he will put on a show and dance for dad, but most of the time he calms down when Craig's hand is on my stomach. Craig claims it's because the kid doesn't like him, but I know better. Craig just has a calming influence on this crazy kid and I have a feeling that will come in handy in the days to come.

In other news, Craig is working like a dog. He is usually away from home at least 12 hours a day between school and work. He is such a hard worker and I am very lucky to have him. I am going to school a little less than full time and subbing as a TA in special education classrooms.

We had some fun in the kitchen over the weekend making pumpkin pie and beef jerky from scratch. Both turned out great and we have been thoroughly enjoying them! =)
